Wyse have unveiled a new family of cloud PCs, devices that come without hard drives, but provide Windows, applications and data from a private cloud. An alternative to the traditional PCs this is a family of Cloud PCs – specially designed diskless PCs that get their Windows OS, applications and data from a private cloud, rather than a local HDD, providing significant benefits in TCO, management and security over traditional desktops. This new family comes packaged with a Windows 7 license, and Microsoft Software Assurance eligibility, streamlining installation, licensing, and updates.

• Wyse’s new cloud PC models include the R00L and the R00LE. Power consumption is less than 15 watts and Wyse argues that its cloud PCs are ideal for virtualized environments.
